Hybrid environment enables live migration of VMs

The vCloud Extender module seamlessly extends your on-premise VMware environment with Virtual Datacenter, allowing flexible live migration of workloads in just a few clicks and with less than three minutes of downtime to the cloud. In an initial synchronization, the affected VM is replicated to the Virtual Datacenter. Regular delta synchronization ensures that the VM copy in the VDC remains up-to-date. During the cut-over, the on-premises VM is stopped, one last delta synchronization is performed and resumed immediately in the virtual data center. Without data loss and with minimal downtime.

Further information can be found in our blog article about vCloud Extender.

Benefits of Virtual Datacenter

Cost optimization

The minute-by-minute billing of the resources used makes it possible to adapt your operating costs flexibly to the workload. If, for example, a virtual server is switched off, it also causes no costs for computing power. For example, such extensive test environments can be realized cost-effectively.

Full control

The web-based administration portal gives you uncomplicated control of your environment from anywhere.

Flexibility and scalability

Respond to changing workloads and performance requirements on your own and within minutes, paying only for the resources you actually use.

In addition to the operating system and service templates provided by ServerBase, you can also create your own templates. This allows you to deploy new systems and services within seconds.

Integrated Backup

With the integrated backup solution, you decide when and how your systems should be backed up. Restore individual files or entire servers within minutes.

Location Switzerland

All our systems are operated in our Swiss data centers and are repeatedly protected against failures by physical and logical redundancy.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

For Virtual Datacenter, various SLAs are available for office hours support up to 24/7.
